Tivoli, Trastevere and more food
Tivoli is a village at 40min away from Rome by train, the train tickets costs 5,20€ round trip. It’s a place in the mountains where you can visit 3 villas. If you stay in Rome a couple of day you must go there !
We started with the Villa d’Este, we had to pay 4€ to enter and the visit is composed by the villa and the garden. It’s an italian renaissance villa and the garden is SO amazing !! It’s full of fountains, there are some absolutely everywhere and the view from here is crazy ! I think this is the the prettiest garden I’ve ever seen !
After a quick walk in the city center of Tivoli (nice little village) we went to the Villa Gregoriana. This one is more natural, it’s the same price as the first one but it’s very different. It’s a 1h30 walk in the montains full of waterfalls, cave and amazing landscapes !
The last villa is a little further so we didn’t went there, I heard that there are more ruins in this one and you can take bus to go there from Tivoli.
We went to Trastevere when we were back in Rome, which a district where you can walk in typical roman streets (very nice). We took an AMAZING pizza at the restaurant « Dar Poeta ».
For our last day we wanted to try all the typical food we hadn’t tested yet. So we bought some Cannoli at « I Dolci di Nonna Vincenza », it was 1€ each and really good ! We also had the greatest gelato of the week at « Vendi », you must try Mascarpone and Caramelized figs it was SOOOOOOO good.. And finally we ate pasta at Ristorante 34, very good address to eat Italian food for not an expensive price.
